    Hi there,
    Thanks for reading.

I have an ancient Compaq Desktop, 500MHz w/ 384MB ram running W2K. All's been well until I installed a DVD +-RW and accompanying software. Now when I use RealPlayer basic or WMP, either I don't get video playback (although there IS sound) or the system locks up and I have to do a hard reboot.

I tried reinstalling Realplayer but problem continues.

    Have you seen this before?

    Thanks again!
    Bob

Did the DVD come with any software or driver discs?-If so try using there media player and see if that works properly--This may be a conflict issue between different media players fighting for control of either your audio or video.
