system32 folder is gone

hey,

running windowsxp sp2

so i got some malware and started to remove it with typical adaware then bazooka. THe thing is when i started the bazooka i noticed that i cannot find my system32 folder. i am viewing all hidden folders and i have no clue where it went.

any ideas??

i dont have any restore points...so repairing the installation is the way to go?

the comp wont let me boot from cd even though it is the first choice int he boto sequence so then i took off hd in the sequence and it just goes to a black screen and says please insert a boot disk.

any thoughts?

 

ok, so i figured out how to make a sp2 windows xp disk from a sp1 cd. I used that to do an upgrade thinking that it would do a reinstall over my xp installation. So it goes into the setup and hangs on the 34 min mark. I went through forums to see waht this meant and came across that it can be hardware probelms. only pci cards i have is an video card and an usb that came with the motherboard.

whenever i restart the comp it goes right into the setup so i cant do much at all


please help
