Taskbar won't stay hidden

HP Pavillon dv9500z CTO Notebook PC / Win7 Home Premium / 64bit / 4GB Ram / 320GB HD + Solid State 128GB drive (where OS installed)

My task bar is set to auto hide, and does so 50%. Then it pops up. I can get it to hide again by clicking the "Show hidden icons" in the quick launch area. When I click that, then click another area of the desk top, the taskbar hides.

It should't pop up at all, unless wanted. There are ideas listed in Google, but no help so far.

Ideas would be appreciated. Have a lovely day.

You should check in the application settings to make sure you can disable any notifications there. Follow the instructions:

Thanks; good idea. I do have some apps running that 'notify' me, like an email program. I'll ck them all.
