I'm having an "invalid partition error" issue much like the one in this thread with a Windows Vista desktop. After running MBAM, I noticed one of the infections listed was "Rootkit.TDSS" and after some searching I came across the Kapersky website which recommended TDSS Killer. Running the program and selecting "cure" for the object that registered as malware and "delete" for the suspicious objects has lead to this error.

Thanks in advance for any help. Also, in case this is important, the CD drive on that machine is broken and the one being used to communicate here doesn't have one.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Well then you are pretty much out of luck. Did this Vista PC come with a factory recovery partition? If so you may need to restore to factory state. Note that doing that does remove all of your personal data, installations....etc.
