team fortress 2 question

Tonight i was playing team fortress 2 on steam and i was a engineer and i was trying to find out how to setup a sentry (automatic gun) and i asked on tf2's chat and i was asked what os i was using and i said (vista) and i was told to delete system 32 which made me suspicious and i told them i always keep my antivirus up to date and i always do a full scan and i don't do hacks, is this a scam??:tas

 

DO NOT DELETE WINDOWS/SYSTEM32!! Definitely misinformation, scam, hoax or whatever.
