Techs at shop wiped out my stuff, is it still somewhere hiding??

hey everyone.

First off, i am like the most humourous girl you will ever meet, so no need to worry about stepping on my toes with directions

I am a clean slate....

If this is in the wrong forum, just shoot me now....

Here is the deal.

Old computer full of icky stuffs....so I ended up getting a new one.

Compaq 512 mb, 2.53ghz, 80gb (NOT like I know what that means, all i know is that is is considered old....LOL)

anyhow, the evil tech people at the shop saved what they could from my diseased computer and put it all into what was called an "F" drive and put it in my new computer...did I lose you yet?

So I get this new one on Thursday, and spend like ALLLL of Thursday night into the wee hours of Friday transferring the data so the "F" drive was left pretty much empty (which was 99% pictures that this braniac NEVER burned or backed up)
We had company on the weekend so I never touched it.
Monday, I wanted to install my logitech quick cam. yeah, the disc for it says Windows 95/98 but since I had it on my old computer that was running XP, I didnt think it would be a problem. It worked on Monday for abit, but when I booted it back up Tuesday morning ((since I was ready to back up my pics)) it kept asking me for the XP disc.
Anyhow, it WAS a HUGE problem....LOL
Before I brought it in, i removed the "F" drive leaving the other two hard drives in there.
Evil tech guys say the XP wasnt configured properly and when this 98 disc went looking deep into files it did something yadda yadda.
I explained to them I had transferred over to this new computer my files and I went to turn it on to get it all ready to back up, I had problems.
So I finally get it back tonight, XP REINSTALLED.
Therefore I have nothing that I transferred over....

Are these files gone?
Or are they hiding on the F drive that I transferred them from or even on the C drive that I transferred them to.

I am wayyy sad to think that all my kids pics are gone.....and of course angry cuz I never backed them up....

Talked to the evil techie today and yeah, they wiped it clean because well on Thursday when they gave it to us, we had it all on another drive....supposed they assumed I didn't take the time to transer it all over. After I told them I had junk on it....ack

got the 'F' dirve in Kodo, but I dont want to to disobey your big CAP SENTENCE in your siggy, so I will await to see you online....
