Ok. Not sure if I should ask this here, but here goes.

Recently, like tonight, my xbox 360 has gone bananas. Microsoft doesn't want to help me. So I've decided to be a good owner and learn to take it apart and fix it myself.

I need cpu and heatsink cleaner, and Thermal Compound...I'm just wondering what something like that costs?

    Anyone have any ideas?

I use 98% Isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth to gently clean old thermal compound or pads from processors and heat sinks.

Thermal compound can be had for cheap. 2.5 grams (enough to do several CPUs) of Arctic Silver Ceramique Thermal Compound can be had for as little as $4.00 US. This type is a good, all around compound that I have used for a long while. Other compounds with specific recommended uses can be had for varying prices

Arctic Silver 5 is just as cheap and effective, but in my own experience, is easier to spread.
