Thinkpad 1720 Bios reset?

    any one have any experience with resetting the passwoed in the bios of a thinkpad?......I have it half aparta but can't find any jimpers.....I understand some have no jumpers...my friend formatted the drive.......to reload it...the realized the bios was passworeded and cannot change drive settings to reload software

    look for a small battery pack connected to the board, or a small coin cell in a holder. Disconnect the battery for a minute and you'll reset the cmos.
