    hey guys,
ok i had outlook express and an email adress set up by a broadband provider.
i then switch to thunderbird but messed up something on the installation.
a long story short iv uninstalled thunderbird and now OE(outlook express) isnt working properly.
the thing is my msn messenger is registered to the email i got and that works fine.
now when i open OE it asks for my user name and password for the server pop.ntlworld.ie
the thing is i have moved house so im not on that server
therfor dont know what details to enter as i never entered them before

i want to get thunderbird running but just dont know were to start
im pretty confused and understand any reader will be to but if there is anyone who can direct me where/what to do will greatly appreciate it
PS.sorry about length / complexity of thread and i have searched the mozilla/mg forums :)

well, first let's get your email working. Let's try that server you have, with your username and password, just to see if your computer forgot your password somewhere

ok im in OE and the username is already entered but i have no idea what the password is or where to get it as i have never had to enter one until i messed around with thunderbird?

you can probably recover your password through the phone - did you ever set/use any password for email, internet, anything relating to them? I'd try their support for the password, then once you can check you email in OE it's just a few copy and pastes into thunderbird.

If you don't have it, ntlworld's tech support line is 1800-924-424 and they say it is free.

You can! I've done it with GMail(I can PM you an invite code) Hotmail, it depends on if they've enabled it.

EDIT: you can use hotmail with Outlook Express, but I don't think thunderbird would do that

great news so to save all the hassle i might just use a gmail account if you could pm the invite that would be great .:)
