Top Choice Antivirus Program?

I just scanned through PC Mags top picks for Antivirus programs/suites.
And I still can't decide.

My older pc had Vista and I used security essentials. I won't be using that with the new computer because it didn't protect well enough (huge thank you to this site for helping me clean it up enough to save important things).

The new computer is an All-in-one with windows 10 and has McAfee (which ends in 2 weeks). It was a gift.

I would like your thoughts on preferred programs.

Windows 10 includes Windows Defender.

I use Avast Free Antivirus which has not let me down.

 

i've been using vipre for years now.
http://www.vipreantivirus.com/
it is low on resources and does not interfere
with how i use my one win7pro computer.
i gave up on the big AV companies because they either
get in the way or caused blue screens on my computer.

You need more than just an antivirus program - that's probably why you weren't sufficiently protected.

Add Malwarebytes to your arsenal of security, whatever av you decide on. Pretty soon it will include an anti-exploit part so you don't see the likes of cryto-wall encrypting your files.
