I'm trying to open up the HDD case on my NB205 but it takes some weird tool. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of size tool I need. I have looked everywhere and havent been able to find it online. I was thinking about taking it to a hardware store if all else fails. Or is there a way I can remove the hard drive maybe by removing the keyboard?

Can you at least describe the the screw head, size, head, indentations. They are called security screws, the most common I've found are ones that look like a regular - drive screw but with a line down the middle, the other common ones are torx, security torx and pentalobe.

    Here are some more examples-

I've had a look at Toshiba and as far as I can tell there are no service manuals for it to aid disassembly, with netbooks this usually means they aren't meant to be disassembled but that doesn't stop me,if I come across a security screw that can't be removed I drill it out then replace with a normal screw.:)

As for removing the keyboard soemtimes here are small catches underneath and to side of the shift keys,or around that general area, both must be pushed down simultaneously and keyboard will pop up,all screws from underneath must be removed first, including the ones under stickers, under the battery and under the plastic bay covers.

Often the bezel above the keyboard can be force-ably levered off which will expose the more screws, take your time though or it come become damaged.

I usually just go to the neighborhood hardware store and ask them to help me match it up.

I did find this youtube link where the uploader says in the expanded descriptionyou need a Torx T7 bit which I would assume would be correct since it is such a specific name/size.

If anyone knows how to post a youtube link as text rather than imbed, I would appreciate the tip. I tried using code and quote boxes as well as removing www and http. Thanks!

Haha! I guess I started using the back button during my editing. :-o

Seriously, how did you post that as text? When I used the code button I just got the code box with the embedded video and a scroll bar which moved the video up and down. I also unticked the box for parse URL's but still got the embed.

Hmm, I just did it with the quote box as you have but when I tried before it just put the video into the quote box. Maybe it has something to do with caching in my browser? I'll know what to try first next time. Thanks!

Edit: Ackkk! it just did it again!

I posted then edited the post and added the link afterwards, the forum doesn't embed the link then.

It's not worked this time lol

I think it's something to do with ?feature=&v
