Hi, I recently got a warning from avira's Guard about TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen

Virus or unwanted program 'TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen [trojan]'
    detected in file 'C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\93mapbrt.default\Cache\AAD6913Ed01.
    Action performed: Delete file

since it says the file is deleted, am I safe now? or could it be still around somewhere, and what should I do? thanks

Just an update, I rebooted my computer, scanned it again, nothing came up. Does it mean it's gone now, since when I read about other ppl having the same problem the trojan reinstalls itself everytime I restart.

    Hello, solarpanel

Have you ran any additional scanners to see if they detect anything?

If not - try running two of our recommended "scanners only". Be sure to update them immediately before running them:

    SUPERAntiSpyware 4.25.0

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.33

If you wish us to check your machine -

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Links are given in the Step 2: Installing Tools and Running Scans section for downloading the definitions for the scanners. Then copy them to the problem PC. Yes, you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
