Transfer Camcorder to PC for burning

Can I transfer an 8mm Camcorder recording to my PC so I can burn it to DVD? I think it can be done, just not sure what kind of cord I will need.

 

Its come up a few times,there are two options buy converter cable or buy DVD player that can record TV,not a pc DVD recorder,the kind that fits underneath your TV

With the converter cables you get pretty good quality mpeg,div-X but not perfect DVD quality,at least not in my experience and they are quite tricky to set up

The expensive ones are pushing £100 for half that price you could have a DVD recorder underneath your TV for recording TV programs and ofcourse recording your video camera movies in perfect DVD quality,the movies can then be saved on your pc and copied at a later date
