I networked two laptops (one see below, the other an old 233mhz pc running win2000) and went to share files but its slower than molasses . . .

would a parallel cable or usb work to share files?? could one read the other as a drive or something? i figure a direct connection would be faster than the SLOW wireless connection i've hooked up - any ideas???

or should i just try hooking both up with ethernet cables . . .

please advise . . thanks guys

hmm id say that wired ethernet would be the fastest way out of all the ways
if your not going to use a hub, you'll have to use a crossover cable

As said before - Ethernet. Buy a four port hub or switch and a couple of cables. If you don't have nics, :) buy them. eBay has everything cheap. Windows supports peer-to-peer networks. Learn how to set the PTP network up. Sharing files and printers is a dream after that.
