   My old computer W7 using Google Chrome. I have all my bookmarks there in Google Chrome. A couple of months before the hard drive took a dump I had done a back up of the entire system.
   Here's a screen shot of a page from my back up hard drive. I don't know if you can see it, but Bookmarks is listed there, but I don't know if that is the actual bookmarks. I was hoping to do an copy and paste but I cannot open it up.

   Have you exported the backup file to say your desktop as then it should be open to be merged or imported to your current install of Chrome.
