    :confused Hi,

I'm a new poster but a long time reader.
I manage to keep my systems clean, all five (except my wifes), but this has me baffled:

I downloaded, via C/NET Australia but re-directed to the Ace homepage,
" acehtmlfreeware_build11.exe ", a freeware HTML program. Promptly after install AVG antivirus popped up with a trojan warning, identifying it as "Adware Generic2.EKJ". Since I really wanted to use the program I decided to check further online references to this so-called trojan . And therein lies the issue: I can find plenty of references to "Adware Generic .xxx", but nowhere does one appear with the ".EKJ" extension. Is there any possibility that this is false positive ? Have you heard of / seen this HTML program ? (Is there any more info I should supply ?)

    Download source / path: http://www.cnet.com.au/downloads/soa/AceHTML-Freeware/0,239030384,10759320s,00.htm

    Thanks.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

More than likely it is a false positive but you should be speaking to C/NET since you download it from them. We cannot vouch for whether they test all their downloads.
