Last night my niece was kind enough to download some software on my computer and picked a up a Trojan in the process. I was made aware I had the Trojan through SAV and it's auto protect. I rebooted the machine to delete the infection but it continually came back under new names. I researched on here for additional fix actions and still could not clean the infection. As I went through I found some other malware that I forgot to jot down, but I know one of them was ctfmonb and the other one continually popped up IE windows leading to fake malware cleaning utilities and changed the background to red with a biohazard sign and text about malware.

I gave up last night trying to clean the items and started back up today with the "Read & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support." I just finished with that and did a final reboot and still came up with SAV saying it found Trojan.Pandex and it needs to reboot to delete the file.

Below are the logs from my "Windows XP Cleaning Procedure." Any and all help is greatly appreciated. TIA.

Here is the final required log.

One thing I was JUST reminded of that is also happening. Since I have SAV all of my email that I send through Outlook is scanned and I am having the envelope icon and message window about the task bar pop up for messages being scanned and sent. So I suspect that something has a hold of my email as well.

Here is an update that might or might not help.

I had to shut the machine down after I ran the "Windows XP Cleaning Procedure" and just brought the system back up. I left the machine disconnected from the Internet for about thirty minutes and had no notification from SAV about being infected with Trojan.Pandex or anything from the Symantec Email Proxy. Within sixty seconds of plugging the network cable back into the machine I had a pop up from SAV saying I had Trojan.Pandex and then about fifteen minutes later I started to get numerous pop-ups from Symantec Email Proxy. I managed to get a few of them to error out by disconnecting the machine again from the Internet and have attached that to this message.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

First you need to uninstall the below illegal copy of Nero which may well be the root cause of your infection. Unless you uninstall this, we may not be able to remove your infection.

Nero 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced XP & Vista + Keygen

If it is already uninstall that's great because my steps below are going to include removal of any files and folders related to Nero.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A140A601-A1E4-4E4E-BDAA-E42C381E5AF9} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\cbXNHAtt.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [f4832fdd] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\abyudjsd.dll",b
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: WinCtrl32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WinCtrl32.dll

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it.

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
