I've read and tried to do everything the read me first thread said to do.

A couple weeks ago, i downloaded some shareware. I ran comodo and it said i had trojware, i quarantine and removed. But it keeps coming back.

SAS when i ran it, gave a pop up message about a file, i had it removed, but doesn't show up in the log. The log is empty
For the past 3 days, my internet connection has been slow and i need to refresh a few times before i get anything.

comodo shows activity of a trojware wanting access, i continue to deny it, but it comes back.

Thanks in advance for all your help

Your combofix.txt log is 10 months old. Why did you not update and run ComboFix as instructed?
Your Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.41 is several versions outdated.
    • Open the program
    • Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Check for Updates"
    • After updating perform a new "Quick Scan", fixing anything detected
    • Attach the new log in your next reply

    Attach this log also:
    Step 1:
Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Step 2:
Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Step 3:Now we need to use ComboFix.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware, firewall...etc) programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. *Remember to re-start them before coming back online.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text inside of the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
      [IMG]
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Step 4:
Open CCleaner - select "Cleaner" > "Run Cleaner" <---use this function ONLY!

    Step 5:
Then run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Windows 7, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Please attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    • updated MBAMlog.txt
    • SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log - 10-10-2010 - 19-30-27.log

    * Make sure you tell me if you had any problems running this procedure; and answer this - "What malware problems are you still experiencing?"

10 months ago, i had issues. luckily i fixed the problem with the instructions given. i removed combofix. I reinstalled yesterday. I find this info weird.

I will update again and re post my logs.

    You're welcome, jabs2010.

Please move ComboFix directly to your desktop as instructed, not here:
Now we need to use ComboFix.

    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now open CCleaner - select "Cleaner" > "Run Cleaner" <---use this function ONLY!

Let's run an online scanner by following the instructions for Using ESET's Online Scanner and attach the log it creates.

Please attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\combofix.txt
    • ESET scan log

We're ready to wrap things up, jabs2010. If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and re-enable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work through the below link:

Which browser does this happen with? Does did occur with others?

    * Open Comodo's main interface > click ANTIVIRUS then View Antivirus Events... tell me what was detected and give the directory.

Please run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Windows 7, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file to your next reply. And remember to answer my questions.

    You're welcome!

:-D I only wanted to see the most recent events report by Comodo. In time, our last steps will flush your restore points - clearing that part up. ;)

You should run another Full scan with Malwarebytes' - this time choosing to have it FIX what is detected, as the program doesn't do this automatically.

Then run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Windows 7, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Please attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    • updated MBAMlog.txt

i notice Firefox has more problems, its super slow, and i need to refresh because it gives me this Problem loading page, Server not found, Firefox can't find the server at...

i also noticed when i run spywareblaster, it always says 230 items have protection disabled. i enable protection, when i open it again, it has the same amount of unprotected items.
other than that, since i don't know much about malware problems, my computer is a little slower than usual.

I ran quit a few malwarebyte full scans, they are coming up clean now.
    i purchased kaspersky.
    am i just paranoid?

    Thanks for your help!

i don't know how to explain this, here i go. when a pop up shows, the cursor automatically goes to that area. so i basically just click, i don't need to move my mouse. i noticed that when i'm checking my email.

    Hello, jabs2010

    Step 1:
Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Step 2:
Using Windows Explorer - navigate to and delete this file:
    • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\1A0A16477D.sys

    Step 3:
Delete all files and subfolders in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    Step 4:
Now open CCleaner - select "Cleaner" > "Run Cleaner" <---use this function ONLY!

    Step 5:
    Please run this:
    Using ESET's Online Scanner

    Step 5:
Then run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Windows 7, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Please attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip and the ESET log.txt files to your next reply.
