Trouble with IE kicking out...

Hi, all! I need some advice, please?

Every now and then when I'm on internet a window comes up saying Internet Explorer is experiencing problems and has to shut down - I do so, but seconds later it rectifies itself and my programme is back again. I'm on Win7, IE8 - I was on IE 9 for a while, but my son put me back on IE8 when 9 was creating/giving more problems. He's tried to figure out why IE continues shutting down, only to resture itself again a few seconds later and I don't lose anything in the process. Very annoying...

Any advice on why this is happening? Will be grateful for such.

Hi ®KIM. I'm not much on Software but here's a suggestion.
Run IE8 in Safe Mode to see if any add-ons are causing the problem. Then enable 1 at a time to see if you can narrow down the possibilities.

Run in Safe Mode -
Goto Start -> Run ( if you are using windows 7 / windows vista then use search box )
type "iexplore -extoff" ( with out double quotes )
click Enter

Also does any other browser create the same problem or is it IE specific?

(This may be better off in the Software forum if a mod can look at and move.)

 

I would do a reset. Tools, internet options, advanced tab, reset (reset internet explorer settings).

Back up your favorites first - file, export You can import them after reset.
