Hi everyone::wave. I'm not sure where to post this or even if I really want to, but I need to know the answer even if it is one I don't want to hear.
Here's the issue, problem whatever you want to call it, I ran my superantispyware tonite and discovered tracking cookies from different porn sites, all under my husband's user name. I wrote them all down and asked him about them. What you should know is that two weeks ago I went to bed leaving my husband playing on-line poker. I woke up about three in the morning, he was in the bathroom, and upon passing the computer on my way to the kitchen I saw on his screen a chat room for finding dates in our area and a open e-mail from "naughty girls" inviting him to call them to meet them, this was from a site on craigs list. I waited to confront him so that I could do a little investigation. I found him listed on a porn site looking for action. I confronted, he said that he had not been on those sites, that he had peeked at some over a year ago, that he didn't know why these things kept popping up but that he could not get rid of them. He had been hiding his web activity from me before this. I said fine we would fix that. I had him delete his e-mail address and create a new one. Then I searched for a program that would keep an eye on him. This program did not pick up these new sites. This is my question, is it possible that his user i.d. was hijacked? Is it possible for him to somehow erase where he has been on the net or go to sites without being traced by a spy program designed for this? I am at my wits end here. I want to believe him but the evidence points in the wrong direction. Please help. Thanks.

    Hi

To your question of the PC hijacked then its possible, however not very likely if he has been viewing the sites while you are passing the PC and can see whats onscreeen, but having said that the best way for you to know if any malware (malicious software) has infected your PC is to run the below, and you will need to to it on both user accounts, do when running the guide start a new thread for each of the user accounts and attach the logs as described below.

Agree with Halo. If PC is infected, generally you will get random pop-ups to the porn sites, or redirects. There wouldn't generally be a screen up with emails to him and such. It is definitely worth running through the procedure Halo linked you to, though. Another option is a complete system reinstall (after saving all files you want). Once you do one of those, there won't be any excuses for the sites.

Sorry you have to deal with that. :(

As a guy myself,I would expect him to deny everything.
My belief is that he is watching the porn sites among other things.
Could you maybe check the installation dates for the cookies?

As a married non-guy, I'd still expect him to deny everything.

If you do decide to confront him again, bring proof. A print out or screen shot of an email like the one you saw would be enough, I hope.

Like Laura, I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with this. If nothing else because if he's actively looking for dates outside your marriage, then computer problems are probably about to become among the least of your concerns. :(

Thanks Halo. Did what you said. Then went to majorgeeks and downloaded ccleaner and obit360. I have one more question, between the first seeing on his screen to running superantispyware, I had put refrog monitor on to monitor his activity, but it did not pick up these new sights. Why?

    Download and install WinPatrol.
Right click on "Scotty" and select Display Cookie filters. Shows creation date.

I would like to thank everyone who was kind enough to help me. The computer is clean and the problem is in the open. Been pondering this and a thought occured to me today. If he was doing this since last year it would have showed up when I ran superantispyware and malwarebytes, which I do weekly. It didn't show up until about two weeks ago. I think I discovered the beginning of the problem not the end of it. Anyway I will keep my eyes open. Thanks again everyone.
