The following 2 devices will not start:

RAGE XL PCI (Microsoft Corporation) ROOT\DISPLAY\0000 This device cannot start.
ADS Instant HDTV PCI ROOT\MEDIA\0000 This device cannot start.

A Windows message says that Windows cannot load the drivers. However the drivers are on my computer. When I have Windows check for drivers it says they are present; when I check for driver updates I am informed that I have the latest versions. I have tried uninstalling the devices and having Windows find them. Same result. I have not tried uninstalling the drivers and having Windows go out and find them. Should I try this? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Charles

    Hi CharlesE

Are you having any actual issues on your PC as the Dell Studio XPS 435T is a high end PC and the Rage XL PCI device its listed in Sys Info, I doubt would run on that system as its very low end and old, maybe the Ati driver messed up and also installed this driver which as its not for your system it wont start.

Just a thought but as that PC is likely running an ATi card over the other Nvidia option is to install the lastest Ati graphics driver and see if that clears this up, also on another thing I noticed your only at SP1 for Vista, SP2 is now out.

Do you have a TV capture card in the PC? if so what one did you buy/order?

Whilst I look for a fix for the HDTV PCI device, take a look at this MS compatibility page for the PCI Rage XL.

    Is this a new install?

Have you installed these devices on a Vista system previously?

    This is 64bit Vista, yes?

ADSTech.com on the Instant HDTV PCI device.
