Help !! I am able to click only on certain website links and not others. This just started happening on my PC as of this week. It is really frustrating. Even if I right click and try to 'Open Link' nothing happens. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Okay... let's clear some things up. You are able to click the link, but wherever that link is directing you to isn't working. In other words, the web page isn't opening when you click the link? Also, if you could list some specs about your computer... like what kind of internet connection do you have, and have you downloaded all critical (or otherwise) updates for Internet Explorer?

Sounds like maybe it has something to do with a DNS or maybe even an ISP problem. At this point it's impossible to tell one way or the other. Give us some more info, please! :)

Thanks for the rapid response T-Rex. Actually this is my PC at work. I have logged onto another PC as a different user and am able to click on links that will not work (or launch) on my own machine (would this rule out the DNS problem ? being they all connect to IE via the same LAN ?) I have not logged onto my PC as a different user ... wondering if this would help. Running Win2000 OS, Service Pack 4, 266MB RAM, IE 6.0
Please let me know if I can provide more info.
    Thanks again !

are there software restrictions of any sort, to keep you on task, that you know of?

No software restrictions that would've been implemented in this past week that I know of. Have already tried deleting cookies and 'ipconfig/flushdns', still no luck. I have also reset all Default Internet settings, hoping that maybe by accident I changed something. I appreciate all comments so far though...

    My bad.

There is a security policy that can do this.

But if it happens on only some....*shrug*

    maybe javascript isn't running?
perhaps there is an entry in the hosts file for it?

Make sure your Admin has updated IE6 with the latest
patch and sp......I think this will solve the prob...

Or if you are auth....go to windows update yourself and check for the sp....I seem to remember this happening to me when I initially ?upgraded to IE6.....AND....if that doesn't work....try the
    Repair on IE.;)

P.S. Each individual machine must be updated....so the prob may be on yours and not on the other if you are networked

Had the same problem for about a week, tried everything, nothing worked, Finally problem went away by itself. i am also running IE6 but with W98. Annoyed the **** out of me. seemed to be a prob with IE though, because opera worked fine. I'll cross my fingers for ya.
