Unable to scan / missing network - major problems

A co-worker informed me one of the fake popup "security scan" programs appeared over the weekend. I am not sure they clicked it or not, but it appears nothing was installed.

I have tried to run ~everything~ I can think of to even scan or find the name of any malware, and nothing. Internet Explorer does not run at all, no network connection whatsoever.

Tried Malwarebytes first, it sets up correctly, but once it begins install - after about 5-10 seconds it just disappears - ZAP nothing, program is not even running. My McAfee software real-time scanning is also disabled, if I try and re-start it, it just reverts back to "off" again and again.

I've tried in both regular and safe modes, also tried SpyBot, Ad-Aware, TDSSKiller, Microsoft Security Essentials, Gmer, Rootkit Revealer, and RKill, and cleaned everything with CCleaner. Most of the malware programs simply did not install, or would just stop running immediately. I can't even get to HijackThis.

I have tried multiple times with everything under the sun, and nothing at all has helped.

Now, after several attempts, MY NETWORK HARDWARE IS GONE. As in, it shows up in the Hardware panel with the yellow problem arrows, but nothing I do can make it work at all, even re-installing the hardware.

I am completely stuck without a name of any specific malware to try and fight.

Also, I might add I have tried to get Windows to run a Recovery Install, and it crashes every time with BSOD errors.
