    In the Windows Downloaded Software file there is a ActiveX control that does
    not seem to belong to anything,yet I cannot remove it. Right clicking on it
    brings up UNKNOWN on everything,in Dependency it says DAMAGED.Is there a
    way to remove it?

    What name does it have?

    in the right click menu you say you cannot remove it? ... two options in Add/Remove does that files name appear if so remove it from their otherwise highlight the file in Downloaded Programs and in the left side panel menu Delete this Item"will appear click that and see if it removes the ActiveX file.

    No name just says "unknown" on everything.
    There is only a ID# {74D05D43-3236-11D4-BDCD-00C04F9A3B61}
    Does it mean anything?

    Funny enough YES .. that string does mean something as its Trends Housecall ActiveX ID# ... dunno why yours is corrupted but one option would be to goto Trends Housecall page and go through the motions again to see if it corrects the problem then you maybe able to remove it.

    screenshot of mine.. note the ID#
