Unknown Host (Error 500) --AOL v7--Win 98SE

I had a long session, for me, on the net today. Trying to download various files from various sites (no pRon) I keep getting "Unknown Host--Error 500". Searching Google didn;t help me much

Error message is "Unknown Host (Error 500) The Web site you are trying to access has not been found.". Accessing websites without trying to download works OK. Error only happens when I try to download a file.

Win98Se, 288mb Ram, AOL UK version 7.0 Spybot, AdAware PestPatrol and Cleanup have been run with np apparent effect. can anyone help? Baz

Thanks xflat and robo. Isn't it amazing what a new day and a full vacuum of all the crap that one accumulates after a few hours surfing the net, It's 6am on a new day and I successfully d/loaded a program. Got a couple of "500" errors but I think these are genuine dud sites.
One is a new URL for a site that is probably not up and running yet, the other I will have to go back to my source and check again. Thx guys, Baz
