I was checking my bulk folder yesterday afternoon to make sure there were no "good" emails that had landed there. What appeared to be an email from my local church, sent to me on my birthday had the subject line:"birthday greetings to you." Like an idiot, I clicked the link and immediately was inundated with popups, etc. My computer froze. I immediately unplugged the internet cable.
The first 3 or 4 times I tried shutting down the machine and rebooting, it was stuck on the black screen with just a blinking cursor. Finally it rebooted.
Then Comodo and SpySweeper started showing several baddies (spywareisolator.com, winxpspeedup.com, websoftcodedriver2.com).
Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you would check these logs and tell me if I have any problems. The machine seems to be working fine now.

    Things look basically clean.

Question: Is the below something you installed?
    GameSpot Download Manager

I recommend that you delete all files in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Becky\Local Settings\Temp

    Now run Ccleaner!

If everything is running okay and there are no more detections from Spy Sweeper or Comodo then you are probably okay.

I didn't download GameSpot manager, but my 17y.o. son may have. I have now removed it through add/remove programs. Anything else there I should delete?
I deleted the files in the Temp folders as instructed.
Is it okay to remove the SUPERAntispyware and other tools now?
Also, the day this all started, I disconnected my external hard drive so that the evening's backup would not occur. Am I okay to reconnect it now and do I need to run the various scans on it?
Thanks so much for your help!

Yes you can uninstall SUPERAntispyware now. I suggest you keep Spybot installed as it is a useful scanner and the Immunize feature does give some useful protection.

Yes you can reconnect. I don't think you need to worry about scanning it.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop & renamed it like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\cf" /u
        • Notes: The space between the cf" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\cf folder from combofix. If we used SmitFraudFix, you can delete all files and folders related to it now including the c:\rapport.txt log.
    2. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    6. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
