Updating truemobile 2300 firmware

Continuing my saga of limited or no connectivity....
Some things I have read, have suggested updating Firmware of the router.
1. How do I determine what version of Fimware i have?

2. Is this router too old, do I need to think about updating?

PCI 2100 card gets excellent signal from my network, limited or no connectivity though.

3. Someone suggested changing the channel on router due to cordless phone system in the house (5.8 GHZ). Does it need to be changed anywhere on the lap top or just on the router?
