Uploading & downloading

I have a Dell desktop with windows xp (about 2 yrs old w/dual pross). I am having a prob with downloading updates for Super Anti Spyware and uploading drills to a hockey web site. It tells me that I have to turn off firewall.

When I go to windows firewall the screen says that the firewall is on. At the bottom of that screen there is a Firewall picture with a brick wall, when I click on it it shows that the firewall is off and not recomended.

I do not have any other firewall installed. When i click AOL safety program it says no firewall detected.

I am able to download from other websites.

Any ideas?
