USB mass srotage device confusion?

    I just recieved my 80gb external hard drive today...hooked it up and in my tray the icons popped up saying new hardware was found, and the new device is ready to use...my only problem is when i go to the control pannel it does not show up and i have no idea why...everything looks to be find in the device manager so im not sure what else to do...HELP

    Click START, RUN, type in: diskmgmt.msc (press enter).

    Eventually, a window will appear with ALL your drives. Does the drive in question show up? Is it formatted?

    when i go into dsk Management it shows up on the bottom right below my C: drive, although it shows up as unallocated/unknown not sure what to do from here...here is a S.S. of my screen if this helps

    Nevermind i got it all figured out...thanks a lot for your help the disk management work perfectly...
