Usb mass storage devices restart pc.

Computer restarts, when i plug in any usb mass storage device. (memory stick, digital camera and mp3)
Once restarted the device can be accessed.

The motherboard is a Asrock p4i65g
with 1 gig of ram.
Power supply is a Q-TEC PSU 400w
Have a usb keyboard and mouse working off two
of the six usb ports on the mother board.
Have dissconnected the front usb.
Also tried installing a usb card, plugged into the motherboard and
the same thing happen.

Any help would be appreciated.

i am not sure how relevant this is to my past experience... but giving shot..
i once had a Lenovo laptop with exactly the same...annoying issue

beleive it or not the solution was to upgrade the bios to the latest version, and drivers... fixed the problem

worth a shot

 

hi, just been on the Asrock website, how do i know which bios to dowload.
