   Is there any way that when you open a spreadsheet a userform shows for a few seconds and then disappears

   I'm not that great with Excel VBA, but I would venture a guess and say that you could use a timer to achieve the effect you're looking for. On load of the sheet, load the form as well, then in user forms on load event, create a timer. When the timer elapses, close the userform.
