Venturcom RTX extensions running on Win2k

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone was familiar with Venturcom software running on top of Win2k to understand why the CPU seems to go into sleep mode after sometime of inactivity. For a real time system to function the CPU needs to be active all the time.

Any ideas?

do you have power management enabled to put the pc to sleep?

Hi Kodo,

Should the Power management be disabled from the Bios or within Windows? Maybe something in the registry needs switching?

Let me do a bit more digging to see what the machine is set to now.

you should disable the power management that allows putting the system to sleep from with-in the OS.

 

Just to add to what Kodo said:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power Options - to get to those settings
