    Hi,

I fairly recently reinstalled Windows 7 from scratch. However, a short time after that, the system suddenly turned really slow. It even takes a long time to show a menu when right-clicking on a file. I have been told the hardware is fine so it would have to be some kind of malware. The scans didn't seem to find nothing but you are the experts so here are the logs.

    Thanks in advance.

    David

Not seeing anything so far... although MGTools.exe did not run to completion, you must run it again ensuring you are running it as admin, that UAC is disabled and that protection software is disabled. Then upload the new MGLogs.zip. :)

    Thanks, Kestrel.

I had to completely uninstall AVG for MGTools to work properly.

Not seeing any malware at all... :)

Give Ccleaner a run (Not the Registry scanner, just the cleaner itself) to be rid of a few temp files.

Microsoft Security Essentials will conflict with AVG so you must choose which one you want to keep. That is probably what is slowing you down as the two softwares fight over resources.
Anti-virus programs take up an enormous amount of your computer's resources when they are actively scanning your computer. Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time can cause your computer to run very slow, become unstable and even, in rare cases, crash.

I did run CCleaner as part of the process and uninstalled AVG and disabled MS Security Essentials. The laptop is a bit better but it still feels way too slow. I will have to look elsewhere for whatever is causing the issue. I will run some tests on my own on the hardware as maybe the guy who told me hardware is fine just wanted to charge me for running the antivirus and then again for fixing the hardware, who knows.

Thank you for your time anyways.

    You're welcome. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
