video conversion

I am looking for FREE converter to convert .avi format.
Video needs to be converted to MPEG2, and Audio needs to be, Mpeg1, Layer1, or Layer2. I have searched the other threads, but I see nothing about AVI. I downloaded AVS, and AVI2DVD. I think AVI2DVD would work, but I can't figure out how to select the audio format. Thnks for any help offered.

 

You also might want to give SUPER a try.

It doesn't burn the files to a DVD, but you can use Nero, if you have it or ImgBurn to make the disc.

I am DL super right now. I can not get AV2DVD to work. I installed it, and when I try to load the AVI file, the audio codec is still blank. I went to the guide and FAQ's, but still can not figure it out. I am going to try a few other converters.

 

Ok, I think the super works, but after the file is converted,. Where is the file in my computer? I do not see anywhere is lets me chose the output path, or output file name. Nevermind, I found it. So after I convert it do i just burn the .vob file to the blank disk?

 

Super has a malware to it. At least it did when I used it. Kept "phoning home", big no-no in my book. Quick Media Converter will do it all for you.

 

It wouldn't be listed on MG if it contained malware. And at nearly 129K downloads I think someone would have reported it by now.
