Video Creating Software

Hello fellow geeks,

I have a question that seems pretty basic but I am having trouble with obtaining a quality software. I am looking to start creating some YouTube videos that are informational. I want some specific functions in a video creating or editing software.

• Cropping sections out of a video.
• Having audio lay over.
• Transitional effects.
• Entering Text on top of the video.

This seems like it would be easy but I am looking for quality software.

If anyone has any suggestions on what they use or some that would be recommended that would be much appreciated.
