    A laptop (Dell Inspiron E1705) has lagging video. Video thats streaming is fine but if you play a DVD or music it is very laggy. I reinstalled all the drivers and it did nothing to help. it has an ATI Mobility X1400 and a intel centrino Duo any ideas? and if you need more info just ask.

    Ceck the video and hardware acceleration settings.

    Where exactly are those settings?

    Right click on your desktop and select properties => settings => advanced => trouble shoot.

    Normally the hardware acceleration is set to max, but lowering or raising could help you. You may also want to see if there is a difference in "write combining"

    In windows media:
    tools => options=> performance

    There you will find video accelation settings for media player.

    Here's another tip, Right click "my computer", select properties => advanced, and advanced again, and set virtual memory so that the minimum and maximum are the same, and three times the amount of RAM you have. This might help, and it certainly won't hurt.
