Videos In Oblivion Are EXTREMELY Choppy/Laggy!

I installed Oblivion yesterday on the following PC which has all the lastest drivers:

OS - Windows XP Pro (SP2 Installed)
    CPU - Intel Pentium D 2.8Ghz
    Video Card - 256mb Nvidia Geforce 7600GT
    RAM - 1gb PC3200 DDR

When I loaded up the game I watched the opening video but it was extremely choppy/laggy & little black lines kept running across the video in all different places.

I then got into the game and I couldn't believe how smooth the gameplay was compared to the choppy opening video I had just watched. Three was no lag at all and I had everything set on high.

I'm just wondering why the videos would be like this if the ingame play wasn't. Surely my specs should be able to handle the videos shouldn't they?

From the looks of it, your computer is equipped for almost any game for the next year. *Is instantly jealous* But, I had the same kind of problem with my 6600GT a few months back. Here's what you do, and if this doesn't work, then someone else might be able to give you a better idea (Also, get the latest drivers. That *always* helps.)
Go into the Control Panel. Double-click System, go into (in the System area) the Device Manager (Located in Hardware), and then from there select "View" and "Resources by Connection". Select the IRQ box and look for your video card. If there is *anything* sharing the same IRQ port, that's probably your problem. Change the IRQ by one of two ways, depending on motherboard. One way is the edit it in the Bios, the other is to move the offending item to another slot, if it's, say, a sound card.

That wasn't the problem but thanks anyway. Oh and I really appreciate what you said about my PC :D :D

Normally people are like "yeh its ok but you need t3h qu4d c0re, two 8800GTX's & 4gb ram to run any game these days" haha.
