Is there a way to change the view in ALL folders to be details without going into each folder? Like a global setting or 'Apply to all Folders' setting? And while I'm at it, when I select Start, I dont see a 'Log Off' button only a 'Shut Down' button. Is there a way to get the 'Log Off' Button?

You don't say which OS you have...I assume its a Windows version...but it goes something like this...control panel/tools/folder options/view...look for the 'apply to all folders' button and make your selection. Your other issue I'm not sure about..XP users should have the log off button beside the shutdown command when clicking the start menu.

 

Go into a random folder, set the view to Details, then go into Tools->Folder Options, then the View tab, and click "Apply to All Folders." The previously mentioned way is another method of getting there.

Do you have the Tweak UI Powertoy installed? If so, run it and select Explorer in the left tree view. With Explorer selected, look at the list on the right and make sure that "Allow Logoff on the Start menu" is checked. If you are using Windows XP and don't have Tweak UI installed, you can get it here: Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
