Virtual Memory Low Virus-explorer.exe 600000 K +

    Alright this started a couple of days ago and I can't seem to fix it. I've read many different explanations on how to fix this and none seem to work. I'm running XP and it's gotten to where my computer is going amazingly slow and downloads are ungodly slow. I've increased my page file quite a bit, ran a couple different spy/virus removers and came up with tons of stuff but now they all run clean... explorer.exe is running with virtual memory going 600,000K+.

    Forgot to mention that I believe this is the cause of Vundo.. never really had a "Virtual Memory Low" message until now and it's now every time I boot.

    Hmm well i seem to have fixed it. I went to msconfig and services and closed everything that didn't have to do with microsoft. It's working great now... was that a bad idea though?

    Yes...msconfig is for diagnosing problems.....so you may have just stopped some malware from loading. It would be better to use a startup manager ( Startup Manager )

    So I still would like to see the logs from running the Read and RUn First instructions. :)
