I have norton internet security and it will not even find the adware. Then i downloaded ad-aware se personal and it finds it but can not delete the files. i copied down the files that ad-aware said were the problem and and started up in safe mode. here i opened regedit and deleted them but they came right back when i restarted i can not figure this out please help. i have attached a copy of my hijack log. i am not sure what else to delete.

    Hi

First run these steps Virtumonde aka Trojan Vundo Removal and this SpywareQuake & SpyFalcon Removal Procedure

then if still not clear of this pest run the following guide, do make sure you follow the steps precisely,

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis

I ran the files but they kept finding nothing so there are no logs to post but i did attach a copy of my hijackthis log. while i was in safe mode i ran a software called ad-ware se personal and it found a few items ad removed them. i am not sure what i am looking for in the hijack this report, but i know the only problem i can tell that i have left is that i keep getting a lot of cookies appearing in my cookies folder even if i don't connect to the internet if anyone knows what to look for please let me know were the problem is.

    Thanks

    Brandon

Your HijackThis log clearly indicates that you did not do anyof the steps in our turtorial. Hijackthis isn't installed at all. You are running HijackThis directly from zip file. Which our directions clealy state not to do.

Follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
