I'm near the end of my rope here, I've deleted Virumonde at least 15 times in the past few days and it.. won't ... stop .. coming ... back. This thing's like Jason or [Insert fictional unstoppable killing machine].

After numerous attempts to delete it with Spybot, to no avail, I tried to do it manually following this guide: http://www.online-solutions.ru/en/how_to_remove_vundo_trojan_virtumonde.php
which worked for a short while but my jubilation was crushed when the pop-ups began re-surfacing again a (far too) short 2 hours later.

I'm equipped with HiJack and ready to go, any help would be greatly appreciated, please, if this isn't gone soon I see an aneurism in the near-future, that or a re-formatting(this would be a tremendous pain), whichever comes first.

    Thanks, Tom.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please uninstall HJT as it will be properly installed when you do the following:

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
