Virus disallowing everything to open safe mode stuck on crcdisk

    Hey everyone,

    I am new here so thanks for listening. My boyfriend left an internet window open overnight and I came back and my system was shut off. I don't know if we had a power failure or not but when I log in there is one of those ridiculous anti-virus viruses that will not allow anything to open at all. Not taskmngr or anything says its infected. I try to boot into safe mode but the comp gets stuck at crcdisk.sys. I am on another computer to ask this question.:) Any ideas on how to get around the virus in regular mode or boot successfully in safemode?

    Windows Vista 32 bit Compaq

    What happens when you try to run a program? Are you getting a message about "what program to use to open it with"? Exactly what happens?

    hi,

    Falcon for some reason my computer wont boot to the Avira rescue disk eventhough i choose to boot to that in the setup boot screen

    Tim- It says "cannot open file mbam.exe because file is infected and just doesnt do anything I cant run msconfig either the virus program says the same thing- cannot execute

    Try downloading this to a different computer and then transfer via CD or thumb drive:
    MGtools and save it to your root folder. If you can't save it to the C: drive, you can run it from the desktop. Run the Exe. (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
