Virus savvy man and can't fix this virus!

    OK,

    I've used every virus scanner under the moon including all the free online ones. Read through your READ THIS FIRST thread and have completed everything there. I have a feeling I got a virus that someone freshly wrote and he is "toying" with me.

    SO scanning isnt going to do any good.

    First off....

    Explorer.exe Will not start up when i start windows and im not sure how to start it up after i have windows started.

    Note: I am on the virus infected computer but i have ctrl alt deleted and went to run new task that is how im here.

    second...

    System restore will NOT start up. I haven't tryed many things but it just wont run i double click or run through cmd and it just loads and shows up in the task manager process's but does nothing.

    right now im scanning with a squared but it's not doing much.


    And that is my current state.

    You can start explorer.exe up from a command prompt window or from TaskManager. This is assuming your explorer.exe is not corrupted. Do you have a Desktop with icons appearing or is it blank?


    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

    No,

    My desktop is gone. No start bar or anything. I will run HJT right now and post it.

    Hm,

    Don't seem to see a place where I can attach the log. Should I just copy paste?

    Also:

    I just tryed starting up explorer.exe

    Nothing happens

    Same thing as when I try to start system restore.

    ALso noticing that some functions arn't working such as cancle and "ok" some times. I have to click the "x" to cancle

    You click Go Advanced and then use Manage Attachments. Then Browse to the file on your PC and upload it.

    i know nothing about viruses, except i seem to be an expert at downloading them ;) ...but there is a virus i know of called beavis.4350 that produces the exact symptoms you are describing. hope this helps.
