New computer AMD Athlon X2 5000+ processor, 4 GB ram and Radeon 3200 graphics on board.

Install Vista, change graphics form 800x600 t0 1024x768 and reboot with no problem. Windows system correctly shows the graphics card not working properly. Set graphics back to 800x600 and install the Radeon graphics drivers no problem.

With Radeon 3200 drivers installed, change the graphics to 1024x768 and reboot and after the Microsoft name/scrolling bar the graphics crash at the point where the Windows logo should appear.

Reboot and from the Windows Safe Boot Mode screen select Start Normally and the graphics work but they are slightly low and to the right on the screen. The Windows logo on the Start button only shows the top half. Select 800x600 and reboot and the system starts normally and the graphics are fine.

When graphics are changed with Radeon installed, games etc work fine, no crashes or graphics problems. Only issue is when rebooting with higher graphics mode.

I am at your mercy Geeks and Geekes's. I suspect (hope) you will not be found wanting!
