Vista Home SP2 x64 and net framework 3.5 SP1 issue

    I have been trying for some time to get this fixed but still no luck...

    Windows Update keeps trying to install the net framework 3.5 sp1 (KB951847) and fails every time... error code 643
    I have tried the net framework clean-up tool and re-installing all net framework versions but 3.5 keeps failing. I tried the full package setup but still have the same issue.

    I've got Vista Home Premium SP2 64bit.

    I would appreciate any help... thanks in advance.
