I installed a game which changed my resolution to a "Mode Not Supported" logo on my LCD TV screen. After Alt-F4ing and Ctrl-Alt-Deleteing...and waiting 5 minutes, nothing happened so I pressed the Reset button out of frustration.
Well Vista boots back in, but when the login screen comes on...it had disappeared to the "Mode Not supported" screen.
I've tried in Safe Mode (which I can see)...rolling back the drivers and System Restore but it all comes back to the "Mode Not supported" screen when trying to log in.

    Vista 64...Asus M3A motherboard...Asus EN9800GX2

    Ahhh...solved it!

I booted into Safe Mode...typed in msconfig.exe...clicked on the Boot tab....clicked on Base Video...clicked Apply...Restart...which booted in so I could change the screen resolution to the appropriate setting. All okay again with only a few hairs on my head missing!
