Vista machine emits windows error.wav sound

    I have a windows vista machine that constantly and randomly emits the "windows error.wav" sound.

    In the event viewer I didn't see anything to go along with the error sounds. It appears to be active every 2 minutes or so. It's an Acer Travelmate 5100

    I actually figured this one out; the computer was/is configured for multiple monitors. Having just the laptop on hand, it was constantly searching for the other displays which were not present.
