Vista Network map not working

I am on a home network with vista ultimate. I have a modem plugged into a wireless router. 2 PC's (one with xp, one with vista) are plugged in through ethernet cables. A laptop is hooked up through wireless (xp), as is an xbox 360.

I can see all the pc's in my network screen, but the network map won't work at all. I am on a private network, and network discovery is enabled. The error is says is "Windows cannot create a network map for the selected type of network connection"

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

 

I did that allready. Might I also mention, I can't access the files on the xp pc's. I have reason to believe it is their firewalls. The problem is that vista can't even build a network map, regardless of having the other pc's on it.

 

You need to make sure that the file Sharing is correctly configured on each computer.

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.
