Vixta?

Ran across this during my travels.

Not sure if I am willing to try it, but it looks nice and might be worth trying for those converting from Windows.

Not sure if I want to delete my ubuntu for it especially since I spent so long getting it set up the way I like it.... and the new ubuntu is out soon...

I've downloaded it though, just in case

 

Tip: keep a spare partition around for when you come across projects such as Vixta. Then you don't have to make a decision and can keep your "live" setup.

Pros
Pretty. Does well to look like Vista.


Cons
It tries so hard to look like Vista, it feels gimped. Not powerful enough, hard for me to navigate, and just too basic.

Its an interesting project. One who likes PCLOS, Mandriva, etc would be right at home. Its using a bleeding edge kernel, 2.6.23 and as for the KDE version...I dont remember, but being that it supported transparency, Im thinking it was KDE4.

 

Good enough for Windows users then?

 

I suppose....

 

Better yet, just allocate some extra space and install them into a VM, slickest way to test drive different distro's and such without any messing around with creating spare partitions.
