Volume Control Slider Moves to Lowest Level Automatically

Yeah, I do not remember when it first stsarted, but it keeps sliding down to the lowest level. I've checked on the microsoft website, but theres nothing for this problem when using xp :\

Im running:
Dell Dimension 4600
Pentium 4 2.66GHz
512RAM
SoundMAX Digital Integrated Audio

XP Home Version 2002
with SP2

 

anyone have this problem before and know how to fix it or direct me to a place where i can?

 

Whenever I've seen it, upgrading/reinstalling the latest copy of sound card drivers fixed it.

 

might be dumb of me, but do you have a keyboard that has the volume adjustment on there? if so, could that button be stuck? - sos

 

i have a wheel that changes it, but its not stuck,

logitech elite keyboard i think

 

do you know where i can download the drivers?

 

What brand/model of computer?

if its a custom build, what model/brand of motherboard?

what about going to the dell site and looking there? do you still have your service tag on your computer?
